The Twisted Vessel??? More like the twisted testicle. To use the word rude does not say enough. Nasty owner shut the door in my face. Why ? Because we walked past with our dog who peed on a pole, not even directly in front of the store. Overpriced garbage. Dont waste your time or money. Go to Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Community.
Apparently, inventory changes often, but on our trip just after the fire, most of the pieces on display were ceramic. I have to say, they were absolutely gorgeous. If you haven't seen pictures, the organic crystalline structures in the glazes are incredible. If you have seen pictures, nothing in them can prepare you for how gorgeous the pieces are in person. You really do have to see the pieces yourself. And if you do decide to purchase something, the prices are more than reasonable (especially compared to the pottery shop around the corner!) and that beautiful glaze is oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. The giant mug I picked up has served me extremely well--I wish I had picked up another.
Very rude owner; yelled at my 6 year old child because she was near (not touching, running, rough housing, etc) his cheap looking glass art. Holding hands with my mother, being supervised, and respectful.
The owner himself is a nice guy, too. He told us all about the process behind the pieces, and the love for his work and his students' work (which is also shown in the gallery) shows. Just don't park on his driveway, people!
Piece of advice... if you're in the market for art, you can get better pieces at Target on the clearance rack
First of all, shame on the negative reviews here. You can't park in a busy area where it is clearly labled do not park, blocking traffic, and then leave nasty reviews when the owner tells you to move! If the owner being aggravated with your poor parking deserves a one star review, then I don't know what the world's come to.
There are lots of pottery and handmade jewelry shooed in the area , but this shop has the most unique and beautiful items.
The gallery is absolutely worth stopping by if you're interested in pottery or glass. Or if you love art in general!
