A striking difference between the darkened, poorly stocked, and poor customer service you'll receive at the dingy Food City or the claustrophobic and indifferent Krogers in the area.
The best grocery store in the area and the best grocery chain in the nation.
People are complaining about the prices. Yes it is more expensive. Yes the place is cleaner than most stores. The customer service is phenomenal. The people who work here are friendly and love to help. The produce is fresh and always stocked. On the phone they are always willing to help and go out of their way to answer questions. My daughter gets a balloon and cookie everytime she goes. Not because she asks because they approach her and make her feel special. If penny pinching and "renting" a cart for 25 cents is your thing to buy generic groceries that may or may not be good....then Publix isn't for you. Go to Aldis whatever cheap place you like. If you actually care about cleanliness and freshness of food and the appearance of the store you shop them Publix will not disappoint. It's all about what kind of person you are cheap and frugal or willing to get what you pay for.
I even put this in our annual Christmas letter this year: Whenever there is a choice we will ALWAYS choose PUBLIX! Thank you from the bottom of a my heart! And Dakota thanks you too!!
Great place to shop. They have the most wonderful staff of any grocery around here.
We ordered our Thanksgiving Dinner from Publix while on vacation in Pidgeon Forge. A couple days before we were schedule to pick up the dinner I stopped by the store to make sure they had my order and to also find what other sides or desserts were available. Susan in the Deli was beyond amazing, she pointed out specialty items that the store had available, offered samples, and even got the bakery to open a special bar cake for samples. All of the staff was wonderful and that would have made me happy. But then I received a call from Patricia the next day, she wanted to make sure there was nothing else I would be needing to accompany our Turkey Dinner and to confirm our pick up time. Patricia wanted me to know that the store gets very busy as the day progresses and if I could come earlier it may be more convenient. I am so impressed with the helpfulness and exceptional service with this Publix Supermarket. They are absolutely wonderful!!!
The Pigeon Forge location is a prime example. The store is well laid out, bright, inviting, and the staff is extremely helpful and informative.
Given the choice, go to Publix and avoid the problems endemic with both Kroger and Food City.
Not to mention their subs, deli, and bakery are the absolute best in the area.
Can I give 10 stars!! I should have took time out to write this back in March or April so my apologies there! My 9 year old daughter fainted while we were checking out and was out cold with significant face and head trauma, the management and staff were more than exceptional. We had been on vacation for all of 3 hours and were hundreds of miles from home. They went above and beyond with calls to check on her that night even after hours and the next day as well! They touched our hearts forever and I have told this story to everyone who will listen they treated us like family even though Traverse City is many miles from Pigeon Forge! We will never forget the kindness they showed in our moment of tragedy.
Better meats, better produce, and a more caring and obviously dedicated store team.
