You usually can't go wrong when you pick Cheddars. I've been to several of them throughout North Carolina and Virginia. They're very consistent with their meals, and the prices they offer are significantly less than a nearby Olive Garden or other restaurant. The onion rings have always been delicious!
I've been to this location several times. My second experience was not a good one. We waited a long time to get seated then we were forgotten. So me and my family just left. Since then I've been back and thinks have gotten a lot better. Prompt to seat you and food came out in a descent amount time. Staff very friendly and the food is outstanding. It's not a bad place to eat. Overall I was satisfied.
This was the first time eating at a cheddars, we had a fairly large party, on vacation. When we checked in, the manager sighed, then rolled her eyes and seemed annoyed. We had a very long wait, and we could over hear the manager complaining about our party size (19). We were seated then informed the kitchen was backed up. Our waitress was fantastic, she apologized. We overheard her asking the manager if she could comp us a couple of the appetizers, since we had to wait so long.....we heard the manager yell and say the only thing free we would get, is water. The food finally came and was excellent. We had asked at the beginning to split the check between a few of the families in our group. The waitress vanished for almost 25 minutes, we asked for our check and we could hear the manager screaming for who had our party of 19. The waitress, came out clearly distraught and said she wasn't able to split the bill, and couldn't get help from the manager in doing it (it was a new system). This restaurant would have had a great review, if the manager had not soured the whole experience. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever experienced. Manager could care less about her customers. 1 star for the food being good and our waitress being good.... Manager soured the rest.
After waiting for an hour and half to be seated when told 45 min to an hour we overheard waiters telling other waiters who was trying to clean off tables to seat people faster to "take their time, seriously...take your time." I understand everyone has a bad night, things happen but out of all the times we have ate here this is by far the worse service, food and attitude this place has had. Our drinks were never refilled, half my order was served and it took fifteen minutes for them to bring me my baked potato to complete my order. Our server disappeared and when she returned somehow smelled like a skunk. After management asked how our dinner was and we told her she quickly left our table. Such a disappointment. I would suggest eating somewhere else if you are planning on eating here in the near future.
The food was really good. They were busy, which was to be expected, so the food took about as long as you would expect. The bigger issues I have may be this specific location only, but they had nothing to do with the food. First, we showed up with a party of 10. They only have one table / section in which a party larger than 6 can sit together and that table was taken. So we ended up sitting across the isle from one another. Not a huge ordeal but certainly odd. Secondly, an “intersection” inside, near the kitchen, had 3 different accidents (people running into one another) spilling food twice. While the food was good, prices were as expected, I find the layout a turn-off and would be my biggest deciding factor in returning.
