My review is a little long only for those of you who wish to stop in for a quick or even quiet bite to eat.
After about ten more minutes of waiting, our waitress comes back with a chocolate shake and no extra shake left over apparently which is fine because my girlfriend can't eat that much. I get told that they can't find the peanut butter to add in my peanut butter banana milkshake so she apologized and I told her being kind that I could take any kind of shake because I really don't mind... I wanted a shake. So she quickly offered up an Oreo milkshake and I was quick to say ok. Five or so minutes pass by and she brings me the milkshake with no extra... I however can eat a lot and love milkshakes. I said nothing, even though it says on the menu that you get your extra along with the glass as all other Denny's have done for me, and I let it pass.
It's Denny's. The food is predictable, but good. The place was crowded but they managed the people well. The staff was attentive and friendly, and very tolerant of our kids. Food service was quick and accurate, we will definitely stop back here.
Wait was horrible and the food was nasty. My eggs had so much cheddar in them they pretty much slid off my plate from the grease. The bacon and hash browns was burnt so the only thing I ate was my toast.
Very slow service ! My daughter wanted Mac and cheese and nuggets which is 2 separate meals. I ask if we could get Mac and cheese as a side she said "I'll ask" they brought out the food and she got Mac and cheese and nuggets. We got the bill and it was charged as 2 separate meals. I ask about it she said yes they were 2 separate meals. I said if I would have known that I would have made her choose a side. And ask if they could cut the price. She said no I said ok well then can I at least get the sides that are supposed to come with the meal. They did do that but I was not happy with the fact that they wasn't even going to tell me that they charged me for 2 meals and not give me all the food that went with it.
It turns out that we ordered a coffee and hot chocolate, well the hot chocolate was out... Which we didn't find out until around twenty minutes after she took our order which was also about ten minutes after we got water. So I traded my hot chocolate for a peanut butter banana milkshake because I was looking for something sweet. Ordering our food came along with trading out my order for a shake and my girlfriend ordered first, getting a French toast slam, some side foods including a change from bacon to sausage, and a chocolate shake. I ordered a slamburger with an extra patty because I was starving and a quesadilla as an appetizer.
Well this is pretty much verbatim of what I told my girlfriend while we are on vacation visiting. She and I have been to Denny's now a few times on our road trip and this has been the worst experience yet... Keep this in mind while you read my review.
So we continued waiting and waiting and... You guessed it, waiting. Here comes the waitress with a tray of food and we are excited... Then she sat the tray down and gave all of the food to the customers behind us and they once again denied some of the food not being theirs which consisted of a French toast slam and the extras my girlfriend ordered on the side... "Bye, bye" we thought as the waitress ran off to the kitchen with it before we could say anything.
Some time later, we see our appetizer come out and our waitress brings it to the people who had just ordered fifteen minutes after we did and they denied getting an appetizer so she was on her way back to the kitchen and we said that we had ordered it and she gave it to us. We had no utensils or napkins and she left instantly before we could ask for anything. So we ate it because we were starving. Then we sat there and I finished my shake while looking at the kitchen because I was just curious and the waitress was in the kitchen drinking a big glass of an Oreo milkshake... Weird right...
We ate a little bit and got checked on once while we were eating. Deciding to go back to the hotel we asked a friendly looking worker for some boxes to go since our waitress was nowhere to be found... Again... We left very upset. Don't go here at night.
Some time passes and here comes the waitress with more food! We are really excited again and she gives some of it to our neighbor customers again and finally serves us. I get my food and I'm happy because it looks great. My girlfriend gets her food and it's all cold because of course it was brought back to the kitchen.
"Wow... Denny's, a place not so packed on a beautiful evening. Let's go there!"
Our server Jericho E., according to the receipt for my memory, started out by seating us right away and taking our orders in a cool-calm manner. She seemed kind and caring so we showed the same back as we always have anywhere we go, you know the saying "Treat others how you would like to be treated."...
We were at the one in Pigeon Forge tonight. We we're left standing for almost 10 minutes to be seated. There were only 3 tables of customers. Than 5 minutes to get our drinks. It took 20 minutes to get cheeseburgers and fries and they were terrible. WHY is this place still opened. It is plain to see the manager nor the staff cares about there jobs. Will never be back .
We wandered around looking for a place to eat since Texas Roadhouse was jam packed pretty much into the parkway. Denny's looked like a great choice since it wasn't filled with cars and we knew it to be great food at a decent price... Well, it turns out we were 100% wrong.
