1. No reservations. There was always a wait, even at times that are off-hours for most restaurants. It would be nice to be able to make a reservation instead of waiting on site. We waited over an hour for our table.
1. Wonderful food. I got the Old Forge's Whiskey Burger, and it was a knife-and-fork type burger...huge and delicious. I tried a little from all the entrees at the table, and everything was tasty. We also had the pimiento cheese, and we liked it so much we ordered some for take-out a few days later. I don't even like pimiento cheese, but theirs was just fabulous!
Overall, thumbs up!! I would definitely return if I am in Pigeon Forge again. We would have eaten there more times during our visit if we could have made a reservation.
2. Crazy host station. There was a long, crowded line going to the host station when we first checked in. Once we received a text, it was hard to find someone to take us to our table. They were very busy, but didn't seem to be moving very fast at the host station.
This was the most delicious food we had in Pigeon Forge! The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was always a wait of 45-75 minutes while we were in town, and they don't take reservations or call-ahead seating.
3. Text paging. They took my phone number when I went to the host station. I received an immediate text showing that they had my number right. Then I could sit in the chairs in the courtyard or wander through the nearby shops until I received a text saying that our table was ready.
3. Takeout. We called in an order of pimiento cheese to go, and it was ready in 20 minutes. The wait time for a table then was about 45 minutes.
2. Lovely patio dining. We ate on the patio, and while it was hot in front of the building, we were very comfortable at our table. When I walked through the patio a few days later after it had cooled down, they had heaters out keeping the temperature cozy.
Cons:
One of my new favorites! We went at 5:00 and there was no wait for a table for our party of 3. The service was great. I ordered the pimento mac n cheese, because I am quite a fan of pimento cheese and bacon. That dish was a little too rich in my opinion but tasty nonetheless. We loved the warm bread that they make in house and the dishes that are made in the pottery house. I also ordered a key lime pie for dessert and it was delicious! We went at the suggestion of my friend who visits PF annually, and I'm glad we did!
Great food and service. The corn fritters will make you want to smack your kids. Fried catfish was amazing! Possibly the best breading I've ever had.
We always love this place. Great food and good wait staff. Have never had a bad lunch there. Will definitely go back on every visit here.
Pros:
This is a somewhat smaller off shoot of the popular Old Moll Restaurant and is set up as a bistro/Cafe. We arrived around 5:15 PM on a Friday and we're told there would be a 1-1.5 hour wait for our party of 5. The actual wait was around 15 minutes so don't get discouraged if given a high time as they move quickly. I had the chicken almond quiche with a strawberry spinach salad while my wife had the spinach/mushroom/Muenster quiche with the same salad. Both quiche were very well done but we're served luke warm. The strawberry and spinach salad was exceptional and the homemade bread they served was a perfect compliment. Our server, Barbara, was quick and attentive. Definitely five star service and would have been five stars overall if the quiche was a bit warmer. We would definitely eat here again.
